A No-Trade Week?

This week's settlement week, hence market hasn't been actually moving in any particular direction. FOMC next week, means, no trades as well for a couple of days. That probably explains all the sideway movements.

Oh yes, don't get me wrong, I love market moves, but please, towkay, 5cents move on your sg stock, isn't going to knock my knickers off. I think I earned more from one options trade than you have on that stock that you have been holding for eons.

Smart Traders Preview Today

I finally met someone who has been following my blog at the Smart Traders Preview today.

Victor, a pleasure meeting you today. Good to know that you are doing your research, although your research on Wealth Mentors led you to my blog. I do hope to see you at Mirriam's program once you are ready for it. In the meantime, take your time and concentrate on your studies.

Cheers.

OEX Strike 3

Did another OEX trade today. Made $100 in the first 20 mins, but didn't pull out. Guess what happened? I ended up losing $125.90 incl commissions. Strike 3, and I am staying out of the OEX for a long while. Need to fill the hole in my account that is getting bigger.

Alan, I am waiting for you to help me take revenge on the OEX. OEX is biting more off me than I can bite off it now.

Maybe my personality is not suited to using the OEX intra-day strategy. Just that I had to learn the painful way by losing my money. Ouch.

Updates of Ms SMTT

I realised it has been quite awhile since I last posted.

I've not traded for over a week, just not spotting any exciting trades that will bring my account balance up. Seems that I am not the only person who's experiencing this.

Nonetheless, this is a temporary situation and market will start looking up again for us, small time retail traders.

I've been very busy with work as well these couple of days, planning a working trip to the US. Looks like no trade again for a period time. I won't be able to trade since I will be out on my customer calls when market opens. You simply can't have a day job and trade if you are working in the US. Tough luck, isn't it?

I am still looking forward to trading full-time by next year. *crosses fingers* And I will be doing alot of homework on my trades to make sure I get there.

For my dear smtt-wannabes, struggling with their trades, take heart. Things will look up.

Cheers,
Neuve

Why I do not offer stock advice

A couple of friends have been reading my blog and yes, I think I've sparked an interest in options trading in them. And yes, some are asking me how I do my trades.

"Tell me how you place your trades, what strategies are you using, what are your parameters?" "Just tell me what you are buying and I follow suit"

My answer to all of the above, "Sorry, you have to learn from the master herself, not from me."

I have a social responsbility to help you safeguard your money, I don't want you, my friend to start trading without knowing the mechanics behind it. Don't follow what I do with my trades, it's all about timing. Just as I know when I should get in, I also know when to pull out. It's time dependent, and you could already miss the boat once you hear from me.

So please, don't ask me to teach you the strategies, my friend. I don't want to lose your friendship just because I taught you the wrong thing and you lose money as a result. I am not selfish with the knowledge I acquired, I am just careful about the advice I dispense.

Trading with the OEX

I did my second trade on the OEX. Heart-thumping experience. Chains move so much faster than what I am used to, always have problems closing out my positions.

While I didn't make any profits on both my OEX trades, at least I know I tried. Nonetheless, OEX, I will be back again! When conditions are right, of course.
